I loaded up on sacks of grain and hops about a year ago and havent bought anything in a while. My local place went out of business over the last year which stinks. I bought from another local place that I never went to before. The prices were more than I remember paying. I checked online to compare his numbers and they seem up also.
Has there been a spike in ingredients lately?

I wouldn't be surprised if there has been price increases - inflation, gas prices, supply/demand and bad harvest seasons could all affect ingredient prices.

I just had a look at the places I get stuff from. Slight price increases (a few cents per kilo), but nothing drastic. Gas is expensive these days, so I'm expecting the increase to come soon, though.

My last AG beer, brewed this month, was 12 pounds of grain, 2 oz of hops, and two packs of dry yeast. That, some small parts and a bottle of Star San came to about $50.

I was getting grain at Ritebrew for 70 cents/pound for 2-row, and 96 cent/pound for Maris Otter (full sacks).

It's now 73 cents for 2-row, and about $1.01 for Maris Otter. So prices up...at least on those, about 4-5 percent.
