Has anyone used one of these?

Used to use one in a small beer fridge (3 cuft?) Not worth the money or expense of new batteries. Wire a 12v PC fan and forget about it.

Can you explain to me how to make a very simple PC fan? All of the threads seem to be really complicated with tubes going up into the tower ect...

What do you need to be simplified? The wiring or the tubes? Neither one of these are terribly complicated. The wiring is simply an old cell phone charger (12vdc) and a computer fan (12vdc). Make sure the amperage output from the phone charger exceeds the amperage the fan needs. Then join (+) to (+) and (-) to (-). Usually Black for (-) and Red for (+) The fan can then be mounted in project box from Radio Shack, with some flexible tubing running up into the tower. Or just mount the fan's output close to the tower and hope enough cool air makes it's way up there.

No tubes or anything. Mine was just sitting on the floor of the kegerator between 2 kegs. Recently, I made some hooks from 12 gauge house wire. It goes through the screw holes in the little fan, and hooks over the evaporator inside the fridge. Mostly just to get it off the floor.

Is this for a fridge? Kegerator? Keezer?

It's a kegerator. So when I wire the fan do I just cut the cell phone charger wires and the fan wires and connect them and then wrap some electrical tape around the exposed wire or what? I am going to run this through my drain hole and I don't wanna be getting electrocuted.

Yep. If you really want to, you can use crimp connectors, or solder and heat shrink. But it's still just a few volts and very little current. As long as you prevent them from shorting out you'll be good to go.

No risk of electrocution there. It's no different than licking a 9v battery :cross:
