It sounds like you already have it figured out:

apple juice + sugar into sanitized carboy
add yeast
fit with the airlock and let sit for a few weeks

The more sugar you add, the more alcohol it will create...it's not going to taste good though...

I made a cider to get tanked once. It was gross. You won't want to drink the amount you need to get a buzz because of it tasting awful. I'd try making a great tasting cider, that way you can drink a lot of it and get tanked that way while enjoying the journey.

if thats all you want, just go to the store and get a bottle of vodka. But, i have seen these kinds of posts before, more than likely someone not able to buy alcohol. More than likely an age problem.

On another note, if you do it right, strait apple juice, a bit of sugar and the right yeast will produce a great tasting cider. I do it more than beer now. Add a bit of pumpkin pie spice and some brewed black tea. Thats my fav. way

We have a winner.

Even if age was a factor, which we'll assume it isnt' because we don't condone that behavior round here. He could still buy everythign he needs for JAOM or something without it being crap

Good compromise for high alcohol and reasonable taste would be Lalvin EC-1118. It'll take it to 16% ABV without a lot of off flavors.

All the Best,
D. White

Look for the thread titled something like "Man I love apfelwein"... This a simple and easy cider recipe that produces tasty German-style hard cider.

I'm able to make 5 gallon batches for under $15 when the cheap apple juice goes on sale for $0.99 per half gallon. 5 gal juice, 2lb brown sugar, 1 packet Montrachet yeast. 1 month + to ferment, then bottle.

Edit:
Never mind, I see that you're already there with the sme questions.
