I've been lurking here for about a month, read How To Brew, watched a ton of videos, and have read more articles and forum posts than I can count.
I'm starting my first brew day in a few hours, making a Brewer's Best American pale ale extract kit with a friend on his equipment, though we're subbing in fresh homegrown hops. I wanted to start with something not too complicated and that would be ready relatively quickly for my first batch.
Everything is packed up and ready to go. Just need to pick up some ice on the way over.
I've held off buying my own kit, wanting to make sure I knew what I was getting into first, but it's a foregone conclusion I'm afraid. I've been refining my shopping list constantly as I learn more.
