Greetings. New guy here that got a Mr Beer kit last year for a house warming/Christmas present from a friend. Long story short, my first attempt at brewing ended up with the batch all over my kitchen floor on the day I was planning on bottling. Mr Beer did me a solid and sent me a new spigot and a refill kit so I can't complain. At least I learned a valuable lesson on thermal expansion and over tightening plastic fittings. While my first batch was fermenting I visited a LHBS and picked up a few pieces of equipment, realizing quickly how many different financial entry points this hobby possesses. Almost a year later I decided to revisit home brewing, kinda. Armed with a mini-fridge that I converted into a fermentation chamber and a little more knowledge I decided to try my hand at making hard cider. Yesterday I started fermenting my first 2 mini batches. I'm hoping I have something that I can share with my friends on Christmas. Also I'm planning on picking up some different yeast and revisiting the Mr Beer refill kits sitting on shelf. Time to crack a brew, sit back and wait.
