Hello everyone!

My name is Kiel and I am originally from Nebraska. I'm in the military and stationed in North Carolina, but I'm about to make my way back to Nebraska.

I'm an extract brewer planning a transition to AG, specifically BIAB.

I'm in a unique situation that will help me to (hopefully) develop a great brewing situation, with lots of help from the information available on these forums.

My wife and I own a wonderful home in Nebraska on just under 8 acres of land that we will be moving into in the next year. We have a large number of out-buildings. The farm, which has been in the family for probably 70 years, was once a small dairy farm. It turns out the milk room, with a little finishing, will make a perfect brew room.

I'm also planning on some personal-use hops (and grapes) farming. I'm terribly excited to get some decent plants started on the side of the barn.

I plan on moving up from extract brewing once I return. I'm interested in the BIAB method, though I have room for a lot more equipment. Maybe some day, when the funding is there. However, if BIAB works out, I may not see a reason to switch to three vessel brewing.

Glad to have these forums - they've already proved a treasure trove of information.

Welcome to the group, from nearby CO. Hops are so easy, while they may not produce huge quantities, I really enjoy watching them grow. Never had the land to grow grapes, but wish I did.

Hellow there, Cyclman - Colorado holds a dear place in my heart, as my brother and several relatives and friends live there. When living in Nebraska, we take plenty of trips to Denver, the Springs, and Ft. Collins.

I'm probably going to have to do most of my "Craigslist" homebrew shopping on the Front Range, as small town Nebraska isn't exactly a homebrew haven. Do you have any favorite LHBS in Colorado? I consider the Front Range and east within easy striking distance to visit a LHBS.

I live in norfolk I moved to Nebraska a few years ago and well a lot different out here lol.

Haha yes I've discovered Nebraska is quite different in comparison to the east coast/ south east. However, I love it and miss it! I've been to Norfolk a number of times. Have you gotten involved with any of the Omaha or Lincoln area homebrew clubs?

No I haven't I hear there is one in norfolk still working on getting some basic stuff first all I use now is mr beer kit with three kegs
