I would like to introduce my self. My name is Steve and I have been homebrewing for about 6 years now. Started out with a Munton's Pilsner kit that was given to me by a family member that he had for around 3 years. I liked the taste of it and then found a homebrew store in my area. He got me started with a starter kit and hooked me up with an easy extract recipe he had available.

I brewed a couple of these then found the Cat's Meow and tried a couple of those recipes. I had also read Palmer's book "How to brew" and got interested in creating my own recipes. I tried a couple using just the information available in the book, but found that I wanted more. Finally found BeerSmith on the web, downloaded it and tried it out. After a two good recipes and brews, I purchased it and have since been creating my own recipes for my brews.

My favorites are an Amber Ale and american Pale Ale that I have created, but I continue to try new recipes. After about 6 brews, I started shifting to all grain, even built a 28qt rectagular mash tun out of a cooler. It is small for larger brews, but adequate for what I have been making until now.

Currently I am in the process of building a sculpture and am really looking forward to getting to use it for the first time.

Well, I am only recently transplanted here. Last year was difficult to brew in since I don't have a cool place to ferment in the hot summer days. Winter is fine since I can keep the fermenter in the dining room.

Welcome to the forum. You will find a lot of great people here.

Welcome aboard.

Warning-this site can be addicting!

I have friends in Glastonbury that we visit about 2x a year. Not sure how far you are from there.

Wadup fellow CT brewer!

I've been here for 2 years and have learned more from HBT than all the books I've read on brewing!
