Grains stated as a percentage?

I'm getting back into brewing using all grain. Years ago, I was a partial masher. I've seen some recipes that state grains as a percentage and hops in ounces.

how does one interpret the %age thing to pounds and ounces?

It just depends on your planned batch size, planned OG and brewhouse efficiency.

90% Pilsner 10% Munich for a 5 gallon batch with an OG of 1.050 and 80% efficiency will be a very different grain bill and beer to 90% Pilsner and 10% Munich for a 100 gallon batch, OG 1.070 and a brewhouse efficiency of 70%

The grain ratio will remain unchanged though.

A recipe needs to tell you OG and percentages to brew the beer in question. The volume and efficiency are up to the brewer and their system.
 
Is there a formula for that will result in pounds of grain if OG and efficiency are known?
