Just a thought...
If package size is the major reason shipping price is high, you could (carefully) drill out the rivets in the hopper, so the whole thing can be shipped flat.
You'd drill just deep enough with a small diameter drill bit so the (aluminum) rivet heads come off. Then you push out the pins.

It can be reassembled with rivets or simply, with short bolts or screws.
