I just siphoned my beer into the keg. Hopefully its taste good for this weekend. I let it condition for 2 weeks. its a week longer than it recommend but i figured some of you guys do it for longer than one or even two for that matter.

so i got the keg at about 34psi. how how do you guys depressurize it back down to 10-14 psi? do you unlock the lid a little to let the co2 come out or what? whats the delio yo?

Use the release valve on the top of the keg.

Thats if OPs got ball locks (or ball lock lids). If you don't have a PRV in the lid, take the gas QD off and push down the poppet with a screw driver or something. Hopefully you didn't fill the keg above the gas dip tube ;)

i left enough clearance for the gas nipple. but there is a metal shroud that covers the prv on the keg lid. thats something i should be able to push down with something that will fit down there?

is this how everyone dies it? lol. push down the prv!!!

Sounds like an older(?) style PRV that is screwed in from the bottom of the lid? I have never had one of those so don't know how to manually release it. If the gas dip tube isn't covered with liquid you should be alright venting through that. Someone else chip in on this type of PRV...

heres the prv on the ball lock lid

Yep, pretty sure they screw in from the bottom. Don't know if there is a manual way to vent them but I am not holding my breath for you. I would go with the gas in post to vent (unless someone can suggest a way to vent that PRV)

well its been 24 hours since the beer has been under 35 psi. i put a little in a glass. tasted a little flat, but maybe cause it is under 35 psi.

has anyone ever had a beer under forced carbonation that didnt end up being fully carbonated?
