A local brewery near me recently had am interesting ale on tap I was hoping to recreate (or approximate), since it seems to be off the menu. It's a tweak from one of their standards a blonde / golden ale.
Basically, it is described as a golden ale, made with gold ale base, and brewed w oats, rye, and honey. Then, merlot grape juice is added and it is made into a brut for extra dryness.
Has anyone had any experience on using grape/ merlot or other wine grape juice in their brews? I'm curious on what a good amount would be to add, especially with the other ingredients such as rye, oat and honey. I have a few ideas to just try but would love to hear from others.
It was a tasty beer, would like to have my own little version- cheers!
