I am installing a keezer in my bbq island in the back yard. Initially I was thinking of the Frigidaire 7.2 freezer as the conversion base. After considering how much space I will have for ventilation and the interior space of that freezer, I decided to get a bigger one and put it into my island sideways. It seems like I will have enough room to install the collar on top of the freezer frame to easily drill holes. My problem is how to address the taps and/or hoses. Since my enclosure is open only on one side (through which I will be rolling the keezer in and out) I can't just attach the taps directly to the collar. My initial idea was to install the taps on some kind of plate, granite or otherwise built into my enclosure and have hoses long enough to allow for me pull the keezer out of the enclosure. I am concerned with
a. leaving the hoses hanging on the outside of the keezer is unacceptable i.e. will cause constant foaming.
b. pulling hoses inside the keezer while I roll it at the same time seems like a self defeating exercise.

I guess I could attach some kind of a spring inside the keezer that would pull the stuff inside, but I am not sure that attaching it (firmly) will be possible without drilling and I am trying to avoid drilling in the first place. Plus I am afraid that spring can wrack havoc inside my keezer as it expands and contracts. And I am assuming sealing hoses against the collar and allowing easy extension of it is two conflicting requirements.
I could have put the taps on the only exposed side of the keezers collar, but with adding the taps and the drip tray it will extend too far and will be constantly in my way :cross:

Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds neat. Any pics of the BBQ island? Could you simply make the top of your keezer be a part of the bar top itself? Like expand the island so that the keezer blends into it? That way you woudn't ever need to to move the keezer and the lines could just run up through a coffin.

Or maybe run insulated, flexible duct hose (With the beer lines inside) from the collar to the taps with a fan blowing cold air in?

G'luck!

Thanks & I was thinking of making the keezer a "permanent" part of the island but then I would either be unable to move it in and out to change the contents of it or I will be forced to cut the top (countertop) of my island and make it (attach it) to the lid of the keezer making it a. very heavy and b. allowing water in the gap of the countertotop go into my island . Someone here actually suggested that idea of using a flex hose with a fan or fans, but I gave up on it due to the distance from the keezer to the island. Initially I was planning on placing the keezer behind the house and running that flex line under ground to my island. I kind off regret it now that I didn't at least ran the line just in case. Now I am "stuck" with rolling keezer. I will attach some pictures when I find the stupid cord :off:

Hope this works for the image(s).

The top is where the keezer suppose to go and the bottom is the rest of the bbq with multiple sections - with none of them other than fist one, that can house the keezer :cross:
