Glass carboy for internal reflux boiler for spirits?

I know this is a bit off topic. But instead of using a steel pot or keg for boiling, can I use my glass carboy? I am building an internal reflux still.

This is not a distilling forum.
It's also a mainly US based forum and distilling alcohol is Illegal in the US and many other countries.
