This is my first attempt at making this. It came about by me wanting to make an alcoholic ginger beer made like an actual beer. So i used some stuff i had lying around. I just made it today so hopefully it turns out ok.
This is to make a 2.5 gal batch

Ingredients:

3.5lb 2 row lager malt
8 oz light crystal malt
0.45 lb
7 tbsp ground ginger
Hops: 2 addition of hellertau 0.3 oz 7.4% aau @ 30 and 10 mins
Juice of 4 lemons
Nottingham ale yeast

Production info:
Mash water 5.2 quart @ 136F
Mash pH 5.3 (adjust with lemon juice)
Protein rest 30 min @ 131F
Starch conversion rest 2 hours @ 150F - 141F
Mash out 5 mins @ 168F
Sparge 2.5 gal pH 5.7 @ 165F
Boil 60 mins
Add ginger, remaining lemon juice, and 1st hops @ 30 mins
Add 2nd hops @ 10 min

Pre boil gravity 1.028
Efficiency 73.73%
Post boil gravity 1.052

I will keep everyone posted with the results. So far it tastes pretty good. Very gingery
