Just cracked this one last night - it's almost shandy-like, but very light. It's definitely a great summertime lawnmower beer. No sorghum twang at all, just a nice citrusy light beer. I went half sorghum extract, half rice extract solids for my base, and since both of those tend to thin things out, the maltodextrine was added to provide more body. The result is still a light-bodied beer, but not overly so. Didn't come out clear, or it hasn't cleared yet, but it's just tasty as all get-out!

My measured OG was 1.060, significantly higher than the expected 1.053, but I imagine that since it's an extract beer it's my OG measurement that's wrong, not the OG itself. FG is 1.012. Fermented for about 3.5 weeks in a swamp cooler, hovering between 64 and 67 while fermentation was active. Then after maybe a week or two I let it get up to 70-72 which is where it stayed until bottling.

Named it "Ponce Inlet" because this is for my MIL who has celiac disease, and through her, my wife and I occasionally have access to an oceanfront condo in Ponce Inlet, FL.
