Getting a TDS meter

A TDS meter should only be considered a Qualitative machine, not Quantitative. A TDS reading is subject to too many variables to provide you with an accurate value for dissolved solids content.

A TDS meter is excellent for providing a fairly good assessment in the CHANGE in TDS in samples of similar water. So its perfect for telling you when your RO water or tap water quality is varying.

Looking back my TDS was 93 and CALCIUM hardness between 90 and 100ppm (changed colors a bit at 90 but full change at 100ppm so assumed 95ppm) so seems the numbers would align with the above pretty well! Appreciate the chemist's on here for all the time and help! At a high level if my base water is +/- 10ppm on any of the above it will still be able to get in the ball park for CL/SO4 ratios. Taking a sample in to see how close this approximation is and will report back.

Got my ward labs report. Looks similiar to predictions!. Looks like math works!
