Finally decided I would try the gelatin fining on a single hop Columbus IPA... I don't know how you guys are, but although I use the 'set it and forget it' technique to carbonate, the Forget It part is still hard..
I kegged on Monday and on Wednesday I decided to see what kind of cloudy funk I had at the bottom of the keg...looked like a wheat beer pretty much, but today on Thursday I poked my head in the keezer and saw my beer line color looked different at a 1 foot length of the hose that arched down then came back up to the picnic tap. On closer inspection I realized that my beer line simply had sediment in it...
It isn't clogged or anything like that, but what I find super cool is that in the past sediment would not form that fast and literally sticking to the side of the line which it would do at the bottom of the keg, better than with no gelatin.
As you can see I lifted the line out of the keezer also (line started sweating from cold line outside of keezer so it may look hazy in my hand).
I think this is a great example of seeing gelatin at work. Just my 2 cents for the day... Cheers all
