How much of a gap should you leave between the beer and the cap? I played around with it a little with my first batch, and didn't notice a difference, but I'm sure it's sometimes important.

If you EVER get a "bottle grenade" IMMEDIATELY place ALL of the bottles of that batch into the fridge. The cold ******* the carbonation process and will end the explosions.
