Gallon brewing

Well things have been tight in the takehome pay lately (long story) so I have put off putting together my keggle system for a bit and am jumping into 1gal batches for homebrewing

Brewing at work just doesn't allow me the level of freedom I am loooking for so this is going to allow me to bring new recipe experimentation to the table without committing to a 3bbl batch to have to explain away.

Anyways gonna head to the store and grab me a cooler and strainer to basically do it as a modified BIAB and ferment in a 2gal bucket...total cost of setup is about $30:rockin: First brew on it will be next week if all goes well.

Nice...I've been brewing 1 gallon batches for 4 months now....great way to get the pipeline going. Good luck.

The only downfall I can see to it is there is going to be a lot of Imperials, Dubble and Tripples being brewed...not really a bad thing though. I guess I will work it out of my system after a bit though.

Nice. I've been brewing 12 or 18 G batches for a few years, and I've done two 5 liter batches this past month. It's great, brewing while reading books with the kids or going for a walk while the mash does it's thing. Stoked to try out recipes this way, but I'm also doing big beers this way - strong golden and a trippel. So, the pipeline is a little slow...

Started doing 1 gallon batches, but had to brew to often to keep up w/drinking. Moved to 1.75 gallons which gives me about 16 bottles. Better.
Lately I'm closer to 1.9 gallons and I'm getting 18 bottles. Much better. As you can see below I have LOTs of different brews to drink.
But i have to brew about every week and a half. Since I'm retired it's not a problem as I can brew any time I "need" to.
