My fryer was going great heating my strike water. It got overcast so I brought everything under my covered deck before it started raining. When I fired up the fryer, even on high, I'm getting little to no flame and it keeps going out. It's not even windy so I'm assuming it got wet. After 20 minutes of relighting this thing it is not moving the temperature. I'm only doing a 1.5 gallon batch so I'm wondering if I should move to my ****ty electric range in the kitchen or maybe there's some trick to get this fryer burning again. It's a bayou classic and I know it works fine because it was working great while I was heating up my strike water

I can't remember the burners on the Bayou Classic. Does it look like this?

Is there a bolt running throught the center to the back? Unscrew it, and dry it out. If it's rusty or has built up carbon inside, scrape it clean with a wire brush. In fact it's a good idea to do that every year or so, you'd be surprised how much more efficient the burn is when it's been cleaned out.
