sounds like an old timey blues song but unfortunately it is my current situation.

I've only spotted 1 floater but there could be more I guess, hard to say.
I know that fruit flies carry acetobacter which will turn alcohol into vinegar over time.

The cider is in secondary right now, does anyone want to hazard a guess on what my chances for an infection are? I know that I just have to wait it out but I would love some feedback/peace of mind. It is a 4 gallon batch and I really hope that it isn't ruined:confused:

Sucks huh. I had one of the little buggers commit suicide by drinking himself to death as well and did not have any problems. Good luck man :mug:

Honestly, a lot of people on here will tell you to just ride it out and you'll be fine. I'm sure I've had plenty of fruit flies, dog hairs, short and curlies...who knows...in my ciders. But the point is...I've never seen them. Maybe I just try not to look closely enough to see them cause I don't want to know how sausage is made.

If I ever saw something in there that would make me think twice about drinking my ciders I'd rack immediately and get it out. It's a personal call I guess.

If i had a spare carboy I would rack it but I'm out of space for now.

guess i will just have to let it ride

Shouldn't be a problem. Just be sure to add "Natural Protein" to the ingredients list on your bottle lables. :D
