Are fresh manure slurry and/or Fishmeal any benefit to hops? Too much nitrogen ? If they are beneficial when and how often? How much? I heard somewhere that fresh manure should only be used for first year or two. ??
I already amend the top layer ( no tilling just sprinkle it on every year ) 1 year old manure/fresh salmon carcass compost with wood chips.

thanks.

If you're already fertilizing with aged compoat every year, then you will likely add to much nitrogen, which can cause the hops to put off a big flush of growth that is more susceptible to disease. Since everyone's soil is different, the best way to get a fertility recommendation is to have the soil tested. Cornellis your extension university, they offer soil testing services. The soil only needs testing every few years.
