I have four hops plants in the second year of growth and I am not going to be able to harvest them with a new baby on the way in days.

The types are Goldings, Cascades, Fuggles, and Williamettes. Some of the Fuggles cones are all ready ripe. The Goldings and Williamette plants looks like they are going to have a great harvest as in a few weeks or so. The cones are already sprouting like crazy.

If anyone is interested and lives in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago and is willing to come and pick some hops they are yours for the taking. Sad to see hops go to waste...

Beatles, I am just down the road. I'd be happy to come collect them when they are ready for harvest. Are you set up on terellis lines where the line could be cut down? That way I could just bundle up the bines an complete the harvest at home. If not, no biggie

I am interested. I tried to grow some this year but it did not work out. Send me a pm when they are ready and we can work out the details.

Well I think the best would be to come by the house and take a look and see when you guys want to take some. The Goldings plant is going to be good but not ready but the cascade and williamette plants are getting some cones that are ready. You could probably get about an oz or so of the cones that are already there.

Here is my e mail: [email protected]. E mail me to set up a time to come by and take a look. Would love for any of you to use them.

Randar since you live pretty close you are more that willing to take the plants in a few weeks and just harvest them at your house if you want if no one wants to take on the bulk of harvesting. They are on a terellis. Maybe then you can share with the rest or anyone that has threaded can help harvest it.

Sure, just let me know. Like I said, I'd prefer to wait and do it all at once if that is possible when the time comes. Still very early for harvest, so wait it out a while. If others get there first, so be it.

Sounds like you have all the help you need.

I just can't believe your plants are that far along. Mine have only just started budding (Cascades). I'm in Richmond, up by the Wisconsin border.

Mine are similar to yours. If I had trained the first growth I would be in a similar situation as the OP.
