I've brewed a lot lately for the purposes of allowing the beer in my kegs to condition for a bit longer. Trying to get in the habit of having beer on tap, beer in the fermenter, and beer in kegs that will condition while I don't have room on tap.

That being said, I want to get a chest freezer or fridge to stick the kegs in that will condition the beer. Is it better that I get a chest freezer or a fridge? I know conditioning works best at colder temps, but I worry about the beer freezing after too long, is this a concern, for something like a 1.050 beer?

With a freezer, you generally need to use an external thermostat. If you've got one of those, there's really no reason for your beer to freeze.
