The Funkwerks tap room goes through a fair number of those hefty 750 ml Champagne bottles, so a while back I asked if they'd save their empties for me. They ended up putting a little wooden bin just outside the brewery that says "Bottle Exchange," and you can just back your car up and take away as many as you like.

These are really sturdy, punted brown bottles that are ideal for highly carbonated beers and sparkling wine. The only catch is they require 29 mm bottle caps, and you may need a bench capper (If you swap out the bell and the little plates on some wing cappers, you might have luck.). Or you can cork them.

If you live in Northern Colorado or make it up here from time to time, go help yourself to some free fancy bottles!

The 29mm caps are available at most local brew stores (in stock or via ordering). They are marginally more expensive than the normal crowns. Same thing for the bell and it fits on the red baron/Emily wing capper and all bench cappers.
We stock it all.
You can also get champagne corks and wire hoods and dress them up! Great for long term storage and higher carbonation.
