For anyone who has a keezer that holds 1/2 barrel kegs, how much room do I need in height to house one? I know they are 23in tall but what about with coupler and beer line attached.

Thanks!!

It depends on the coupler. I have a few different kinds and they are all different heights. There are low profile couplers out there as well as right angle adapters. Either of which would allow you to reduce the height.

Also the height of a 1/2 barrel is the same as a 1/4 barrel or sixtel.

I'm wondering if you've thought about lifting a half barrel up into a keezer, and getting it in there without damaging your shanks.

I was wondering the same thing. I just replaced 2 5-gallon Corny's today and that was a pain. Lifting a 15-gallon keg over the edge of a keezer sounds damn hard. I mean, that's close to 150 pounds!

The coupler and beer line should only be a few extra inches. 6 at most maybe. Getting it into the keezer would be the hardest part. I haven't actually done it yet, but my plan was to position a folding ladder over the keezer and use a game hoist pulley system to lift the keg. The pulley's would reduce the load to ~40 lbs. I just don't know if the room has enough height for the ladder to work.
