Every time I want to make popcorn (with my air popper) my family is sleeping so I can't make it in the kitchen without risk of waking them up since we have an open floor plan.

I could take it downstairs and pop it in the basement, but then I'd have to bring it back upstairs to the kitchen to use my spray bottle to apply the butter-flavored oil.. because there's carpet in the basement and the sprayer does too good a job at creating a mist and I don't want it on the carpet.

So the problem is: you're afraid if you wake them, they will eat most of the popcorn?

Brew on :mug:

They must be light sleepers. I'd just go for it and damn the torpedos.

Man I love popcorn, so I'm 75% on your side. BUT: fake butter: lame. I hope you have some popcorn salt, nobody likes salt boulders on their fluffy buttery heaven.

Also, as long we are getting to the kernel of issue, a large heavy wooden bowl is the only serving vessel worthy of the treat of kings.

Very cool thread. What are your thoughts on guacamole?

Yes, I have a couple varieties of popcorn salt I use (my favorite is white cheddar).

Real butter? Do you just melt it and then drizzle it over? I might give that a try. Right now I'm using one of those hand-pump-pressure spray bottles that are generally used for spraying oil on cookware.

Side note: I really like this air popper. There's never been a single burnt piece and it pops almost every kernel. Super easy to clean.

Rip up carpet and install hardwood floors in the basement?
I like where you're going with this...

Thoughts and prayers...

;)
Always appreciated. Hoping I can pull through.

Popcorn salt isn't flavored. It's ground fine to better disperse in the popcorn.
Well, the flavored salt I have is in powder form, so it works well. I'm not sure I've ever seen unflavored popcorn salt in stores. Intriguing. What other popcorn mysteries can I unlock?

Also have any of you ever had ladyfinger popcorn? I usually eat one piece at a time so this stuff is a nightmare. So frickin tiny.

You really need a dedicated spray chamber. You can't really call it popcorn if the condiments aren't added immediately after popping.

Preferably the chamber should be able to be nitrogen flushed so you can do a proper LODO spray.
Lodos a waste of time. I don't do it and my popcorn comes ok. Cheers

damn, i haven't even had popcorn since bernard jensen discontinued their veg seasoning.....

You're using the wrong kernels. This is what you need...
