I must say these are the best chicken and ribs I've had!! 5 hours on the ribs and chicken thighs.Just threw them on and let them do there thing. No foil,no sauce.Just a dry rub...Mighty Mighty fine! Theres still a 10LB shoulder going for dinner!!The wireless maverick showed up just in time. Watching the temp from the couch is a bonus and worth the money!! Thanks for the help:mug:

Looks good. I started the WSM early this AM also with 3 lbs bacon and 2 lbs jerky.

I really want a simple thermometer for my smoker again. I made bacon this weekend and forgot my thermometer broke and all I had to go by was the stupid Brinkmann thing that says "Warm, Good, Hot". WTF?

Not sure I want to spend the $60 or so for a wireless one though. A simple analog would be ok for me until I get into charcoal.

Just like in homebrew I went all out from the beginning.I figured why get aggravated at first and then go out and buy the right stuff anyway.I bought this one.It worked awesome.I thought the wireless was an unnecessary novelty but man was I wrong. Not going out and checking the air temp for 12 hours was mighty nice.

I agree. It makes life sooo much easier. I have a hard time getting it to connect to the base sometimes though. The beep at 10deg prior to set temp always throws me off. I get excited thinking meet is to temp then to find out I have 10 degrees to go!

Looks like you did well for your first SMOKE!
