This is a modified kit recipe that I wanted to make and wanted to see if there were any glaring mistakes or concerns before I brew it.

Are you trying to meet the style guidelines, or are you just looking for a tasty brew. If going for style I have to ask, where's the roasted barley? An Irish red without roasted barley is, well, something, but it's not an Irish red, IMO. The typical amount is 4-5 oz in a 5 gal batch. The chocolate is not needed and should be eliminated if you do add the RB. I think you may be a bit high on the caramel malt, too. Maybe cut the C120 down to .38 lb and the C20 down to .5 lb. I'd lower the Carapils to .5 lb, as well, but that's just me.

Or, if you don't care about style, brew it as you have it. I'm sure it will be good.

Thanks for the information. The kit I bought did not include roasted barley and included chocolate malt I assume for color.

I will make some changes and report on how it turns out.
