first post/first batch

Hello, Thought I'd post in the intro forum as a way to break the ice. I am brand new to the home brew world. My first batch (irish stout) has been in the primary for 23 hours as I type this. I got hooked on homebrew by a fellow that I train with at a local aikido dojo. He has favored me with a couple of his brews and they were delicious. As a wedding gift (two weeks ago) he gave my new wife and I a starter kit for homebrew. I look forward to picking everyones brain for tips and sharing my homebrew tales with all of you.

Obsession, who's obsessed? I'm not obsessed (frantically hiding various buckets, carboys, bottles, ingredients), no one here is obsessed.

I'm a frequent poster over on Martial Talk and love their forum software and the community at large. It seems, from reading through some of the posts here that everyone here is as enthusiastic and knowledgeable about brewing as the folks there are about the martial arts. Loving the info and thanks for the welcomes.
