Hello everyone,
I took off with my first batch last night, went pretty good! Only one boil over haha. It wasn't until I had the water boiling that I realized I accidently picked up 4lbs of Pale Malt Extract, and 4lbs of Amber Malt Extract. I was going for an IPA, and this is the rough recipe I used:
8lbs Pale Malt Extract
1/2lb Crystal Malt 120L (which I skipped, due to the amber extract)
2oz centenial @60
2oz cascade @15
1oz cascade @5
Now I was already setup and excited to go, so I didn't want to stop the boil and wait until tuesday (when my LHBS reopens) to exchange the amber for pale extract. I understand my beer isn't going to turn out how I wanted it, but will it be so bad that is undrinkable? I really hope not, since it is my first brew and plan to do many many more.
Thanks!
