i left the hops n yeast at my house. on my way to get them, my friend started cooking the malt before we got the grains started. at that point i stopped caring about the instructions and did whatever felt right in the situation. heres what i did.

i boiled 1 1/2 gal of water with 2 cans of malt extract for 50min
meanwhile i steeped the grains for 1 hr
i added the grain water into the warm malt
added the hops and irish moss (mistake) into grain bag boiled 30 min
cooled wort
added to fermentor
added yeast
capped carboy

i know i did everything wrong but whats the worst that could happen?

Oh boy. Well the less water you boil, the more the hops will add bitterness.

So lets say the hops were supposed put the brew at 20 IBU's, well since you boiled less than 2.5 gallons you you're gonna end up, for example, at 45 IBU's

.......was your extract hopped or unhopped? If the extract did not come hopped at all, you're probably going to suffer a bit as far as the bitterness is concerned. Typically hops need 60 mins of boil time before they will add proper bitterness to your brew.

You didn't mention anything about adding water to your carboy. You did add water to bring it up to the 5 gal. mark, didn't you? If not.....could be a bit of a problem..........if you intend on drinking this beer

carboy is fine. i just hope it dosent taste like ass. next time i'll make sure I do everything or make sure help is a little more informed.
