Yesterday I tasted my first ever brew after being bottled for only 2 weeks. I brewed Palmer's Cincinnati Pale Ale and I was quite happily impressed how it turned out. It is very hoppy, but after a few minutes in the glass the hop taste somewhat decreases. I might have messed up in the IBU calculations since my LHBS doesn't have the same hops % as Palmer's book.

Newbie lessons learned:
- Take notes of what you do and when you do it - I followed the steps in the book but I don't remember exactly how much hops I used
- Take OG and FG and calculate ABV% - skipped those parts, and now I have no idea about the alcohol content

I'm very happy about this first beer. There will be many more to come!
Cheers!

Good job! Saw that recipe in his book as well. I might try it at some point, his book is really good IMO.
