First Batch - General Dry Hop Question

I am making an IPA that calls for dry hopping in the secondary --


I want to dry hop for 7-10 days.

How do you go about this?


1. Primary for 7 days, secondary for 2+ weeks... dry hopping the final 10 days.

2. Primary for 2+ weeks, then add hops to secondary, and leave for 10 days?


Which one of these is recommended and would there be any difference or advantage of either?

You will get many different answers here. Mine would be #3, leave in primary for 4 weeks and dry-hop in there from day 21-28. I know you didn't give that option so if you must do a secondary, then I'd also say #2. But that would be my 2nd choice.
