Just popped the lid on my primary and took a reading, I got 1.012. It's an American Pale Ale. My O.G. was 1.045. It was supposed to be between 1.055-1.051. The F.G. is supposed to be between 1.015-1.012. It smells great. Smells just like the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. It's been in primary since the 7th. I'm going to leave it in primary until the end of January. Hopefully the F.G. will finish out around 1.006-1.005. I'm stoked. Can't wait. Here's a pic. Looks good to me.

Looks great to me! Get your next batch started soon if you haven't already, because this is your new addiction.

If your FG is stable, and it's been in primary for at least 2 weeks, bottle that puppy up!!! My opinion... and process... and I've won awards ;)

I don't think it will myself. I think the OG was a little low due to not getting the chilled wort & top off water mixed well. So the 1.012FG might just be spot on.

Dont think your sg is going to drop anymore. Why do you think it will get down to 1.005-6?

Not sure. I was hoping it did so the ABV would be in the right range but o well. I think I'm going to mix A LOT better next time. By my calculations, my ABV should be 4.3%. Not bad but the range was supposed to be 5 - 5.5%.

Second consecutive day hydro reading was spot on 1.012. Tomorrow should be the same too hopefully. Should be bottling next weekend. I think I'm going to take some advice from here and let it stay in primary a little longer.

You could bottle now, let it condition 3 weeks, and be drinking in less than a month!
