Alright, here's my set-up...and the problem I'm having. I have a small keezer with co2 tank, 1 keg, single gauge regulator set at 11psi, 10 ft 3/16" beer line all inside at a cool temp of 38 degrees. I have a Perlick 525ss faucet with a sweet tap handle :tank:

The problem I'm having is confusing the crap out of me. I carbed up for about 2 1/2 weeks at 12 psi and the beer poured perfectly for a couple of weeks. All of the sudden I began having foaming issues. I checked the regulator and it was a bit high (jumped to 15psi) so I purged the keg of excess co2 and dialed down the reg to 11. Let it hang out for a week and tried again. The beer shoots out, I mean fast, like it's carbed at 60psi or something for about 3-4 seconds, then it calms down and pours fine. The beer line is full of beer, no air or co2 pockets, and the reg reads 11psi. But that first pour rockets out head and then I can get a decent pour.

Anyone have any idea why this may be and how I can fix it because I'm seeing way too much wasted beer at the bottom of my drip bucket:(

I have that issue when I don't pull the handle completely open. One smooth motion, quickly open valve ALL the way.

If that is not it, maybe too much line, 10 foot? My line only is long enough to do the job, maybe 4 foot.

maybe the tap is sticking at first? I'm only familar with cheap picnic taps that are a simple plunger valve. I imagine a perlick faucet is kind of like a lever so it can't really 'stick' for a second then pop all the way open?

do you have a picnic tap you could throw on there to see if it acts the same way?

remove and clean the perlick? maybe a piece of hop or something in there.
be sure to open all the way when using, a partial open is a way to create foam.

the only other thing i can think of, is bad regulator, the jumping of the regulator on its own is unusual, may be that its not really at 11 psi as you set it... normally i wouldnt consider this, but i have not had my regs accidentally go up on their own either.
