I know its pretty off topic but I know a lot of people rave about this beer so I jumped at the opportunity when a local bar had a tapping. All I can say is wow...definitely lives up to the hype. I tried it side by side with the Elder and it was just a great experience. Would have never heard about it if it wasn't for these forums so thanks!

i'm still waiting for my first taste of Pliny, younger or elder.

two bars in my area have Sculpin on tap. that's one of the best IPA's i've had, thus far.

i had my first taste of the elder on tap at a local bar last month then my wife bought a couple of bottles from the corner produce store last night. the difference in taste was amazing. the hop smell from the bottle was intense, like opening a pound bag of hops. the taste was like taking a swig from a bottle of perfume the hop aroma was so intense, not at all like the tap beer. the date on the bottle was march 21 of this year so maybe the beer on tap was older? who knows. i've seen these beers selling for $20 (they are $4 at the store here) on ebay which is insane to me but i probably pay too much for something another won't. i don't know what i'll do with the second bottle, my wife claims it's growing on her so maybe she'll drink it. i love the smell but the taste is too perfume like for me.
