I use a 1 micron reusable canister filter to occasionally clairify my beer. Normally I filter right after I keg from the fermenter. i have a couple of corneys that have been on the co2 for about 3 days. can I filter my beer after its been carbed ?? will there be any issues ??

Where did you get the filter from. Just curious as I see people talking about reusable filter elements but I have never seen these. I haven't looked very hard though.

Yes, you can filter carboated beer. Both kegs must be pressurized to the same psi. Set up the receiver to send the beer down the dip tube. Start the flow by releasing pressure a bit on the receiver. A little release goes a long way.:)

Yep.....

but if you do loose carbonation, just re carb when you're done

You can pick them up HERE. I use the pre-filter which costs about the same as a good household water filter. They can be backflushed, washed, and then put through the pressure cooker for reuse. Get the ss end caps.

Just a question. Have you ever tried gelatin? I cold crash my beer then a packet of for gelatin with two cups of 180 degree water with my brew in to the keg and after 2 pints I have very clear beer. I would give filtering a shot, but the infection fear has kept me from trying.

i bought the reusable filter at morebeer. cant remember where i bought the canister. I use the canister with a carbon block filter to get my water ready, since my tap water is highly clorinated

I have not tried geletan yet but may in the future. I do use irish moss though

What's the point of filtering if you are going to transfer to a second keg? if you pull a pint first, you'll leave the sediment behind anyway.

well if you use the 1 micron filter, it leaves behind crystal clear beer.

Out of curiosity how difficult is it to use one of these filters? I've been eyeing one for next spring but don't know anyone who uses them

not hard at all. my canister came with custom hoses attached. you attach the corney fittings to each hose, the attach in to full keg, out to empty keg, add co2 pressure, and it pushes it through the filter to the empty keg. then just cap and carb

Sudbuster, do you use the flat gasket one? I assume it fits into a standard 10" water filtration housing? or do I need some crazy setup?

I don't see any reusable filters from Morebeer. Do you have a link?

interesting. I dont see it. But they do have it. I have a Morebeer across town from me here, and he had a box of them on the shelf. The canister with the hoses is the same one I bought, seems like I got it from CHi company cheaper.

I would call Morebeer, I'm sure they have it, it's just not listed.
