whats the eaisiest way to figure the actual alcohol content

If i remember right its your original gravity reading minus your final gravity reading multiplied by 131.

Correct me if i am wrong.

EDIT: Opps lol I am a dumb@&* I didnt notice this is in the winemakers forum. No idea how to figure it out with wine.

For wine my mother uses the following.

[(OG * 1000) - (FG * 1000)] / 7.5

I don't know how this meshes with the 131 thing but it should get you close I would think.

Eg) OG: 1.090, FG: 0.996

(1090 - 996) / 7.5 = 12.53

Og - Fg = ? * 105 = Abw

Abw * 1.25 = Abv

multiplying by 1000 and then dividing by 7.5 is the same as multiplying by 1000/7.5 = 133, so it's very close.

I usually just take the OG minus FG times 131.25.
