We brewed an Irish Stout on the 26th of February.
We hooked up a blow off tube for the first 3 days and then fitted and air lock onto the glass carboy. On March 8th (11 days after brewing), our brew woke me up in the middle of the night making all sorts of noises not usual to the previous days. The next morning I took a look at it, and I saw that there were all sorts of white particles stuck to the neck of the carboy. I have a pretty good idea of what the "white things" are, I think, and I was just wondering if that is normal to the fermenting process.
I'm brand new at this, so I love just sitting around and watching the airlock tick and bubble, but the noises from the other night have me wondering if everything is OK.
