Hello I brew smaller batch’s aka less than 5gal of beer. So I am looking into fermenting in one of my 5 gal Cornelius keg so has any of you brewer’s ever used a Cornelius keg to ferment in???

Or use a floating dip tube such as the Clear Beer Draught System, or the cheaper one from William’s Brewing. You can even happily serve from the same keg.

Yes, fermenting in kegs is very much a thing. Definitely use Google to help yourself here.

Remove the dip tube and fasten a blow off on the poppet connector.

If you do that, then you have to reassemble to transfer out. Doesn't seem like a great idea to me. Re: blowoff, for "larger" batches I put a tube on a QD into a bottle of starsan on the first day or two. It has never clogged, and all you have to do is clean a QD. Easy peasy.
