Fermentation Refer Question

I am about to purchase this refridgerator on craigslist:

Is there any reason why a fridge like this would not work (with ebay temp controller) as a fermentation chamber?

I figure the top freezer probably will not function as a freezer, but that doesn't bother me too much.

Go for it. If anything, make sure you take measurements so that you can put whatever number of fermenters you want in there.
