I recently inherited an old mini fridge and was hoping to convert it to a fermentation fridge. It's a Haier model HRQ04WNAWW. There's enough space to fit a fermentor with an airlock or blowoff hose and I figured I'd hook a temperature controller up to it. My main question was whether or not this fridge would be good enough. I read that certain types of mini fridges aren't good for use as fermentation fridges and figured this would be the place to ask before I went through the trouble of converting it. I attached a couple pics of the inside/back of the fridge. Thanks a lot!

I should work fine for you. Just turn it to its coldest setting and plug it into your controller.

Those kind of units will frost up, but as a fermenter chamber, you won't have that problem.

I'd put some DampRid in it when you are using it. I put two in my chest freezer and they pull lots of moisture out that would normally puddle in the bottom.

I might look into setting the internal temperature if I'm feeling cheap and don't want to spring for the external temp controller. I'm planning on painting it with magnetic primer and chalkboard paint to match my keezer, so maybe I'll post the final results when I'm done. Thanks for the quick replies!
