so after making the Son of a Fermentation Chiller I wanted something a bit more efficient.
I wanted to find an inexpensive water chiller like I use on my reef aquarium, but could not find one at a price that I was willing to by one for. I wanted to run a pump from a bucket or trash can that could provide a water jacket around my glass carboy to the chiller and back. After racking my brain I came up with this idea.. I used the thermostat I already had for my first chiller and re-wired in a water pump instead of the PC fans. It will pump water from the trashcan that my carboy sits in through my wort chiller that is sitting in an ice bath back to the trash can. So far it works great except I have the problem of my carboy being a little too cold. I inserted a water heater to help stabilize the water to as close to 65F as possible.
