So I just brewed my 5th 5gal batch, a smoked porter this time. Last 3 batches were an October fest and turned out awesome. I brewed just like always, got my wort down to about 75 and pitched. Done it that way the last 3 times no issues. This time though I only got bubbles the 1st day. Its now day 4 and no more bubbles. Whats going on?? To hot or to cold?? Thanks in advance...

If you pitched at 75 what did you ferment at and what yeast. If the fermentation was warm the yeast work fast. Take a gravity reading:)

I've had that happen when I'v fermented too warm too. At least with some strains of yeast.

Loves me some smoked porter, though.

When the rapid bubbling slows or stops,it just means initial fermentation is done. It'll then slowly, uneventfully creep down to FG. But 75F is a bit too warm for the average ale yeast. You needed a lower temp to forgo getting off flavors from the higher ferment temps.
