I think it's either hilarious or I just can't believe that nobody has mentioned this site on "the other" site. I thought for sure someone would have brought it up, talked **** or something. 1. Either someone did and it was nuked immediately (likely) or 2. Nobody has in fear of the banhammer?

Thoughts? Other ideas or info?

...penis...

Last time I got the Ham-bone it was for the Russian Imperial Stout post-a-thon per ChadQuest.

I just sent them a personal email with my scrotum and suddenly my account reactivated, I don't fear the hammer as much as find it a sincere annoyance.

Also, even though I'd like to see this place grow and become more active, I don't want it to turn into BA 2.0 - and a thread could potentially do just that.
It's growing at a good rate right now. The first couple of days were chaotic, and there were definitely some bruised feels (I know those feels). But now it's several members a day, and word of mouth shows some solid bursts of new members.

I think as the site grows, it will change to keep up with what the community wants, but it will also forever avoid being turned into BA 2.0. BA is its own thing, and we're not trying to be a replacement to that. As Gene has said, this should be more of a companion site, but one a bit more focused on what the users want, not so much what the "owners" want.

spot on. the BA forum has become fairly ridiculous and i've found that most of the good of the forum has gone underground in one way or another in all these side things. i definitely have done my share of stuff that needed to be moderated on any site but at the same point, much of the discipline i received made no sense and there was never a way to get details on anything other than "you wrote something and someone clicked the report link." it is just a website, but like most of us who received discipline or bannings or whatnot, they come suddenly and just lock you out from communications and your data. might seem like no big deal, but you might have trades in progress or even trips planned and losing that access can be a bit crippling (and over what...you were a bit tipsy and some ****** bag decided to go nuts on the site and you had some fun in their thread that was a ticking time bomb?). it was kind of ironic when jason had a bit of a public twitter bitchfest with citibank recently:

@AskCiti no thank you... Your customer service was useless to our biz. Canceling a good standing biz credit card w/o notice is very wrong.
...i'm sure most of us who ever got the timeout/banhammer can relate to that feeling on BA.

recently todd posted something about traffic getting some crazy number of unique hits each day and when you think about it, those of us who post regularly on the site and might mix it up with some n00b flapping their gums or some vet putting down n00bs are just a pain in the ass. these guys are out at a bar having fun and their phone is buzzing because someone is drunk and picking fights on BA and people are clicking the report link. if you had 100 users who regularly made this happen and you were getting millions of unique hits everyday wouldn't you just zap the 100 pains in the asses? i mean, who really cares about 100 people who have contributed thousands of reviews, hundreds of new beers and tons of knowledge on the community when you have millions of other users? think about all of the former BAs and their contributions to both the site and the community...them getting zapped didn't change a thing other than a legacy that eventually fades away (RIP DING)

So what you're trying is, **** That ****?

lol...I don't even follow them on twitter, they just give off the ******/negative vibes from their avatars...I just use the site to trade beer since people gather on there.. but I'll be using this place more often since most of the people I've made e-friends with post on here now.

let's all be e-friends.

I try to make account on these websites for seek rare fingerling seed stock. These man with suicide hat tell me I am troll and I cannot have trade for potato and beer both. Is greatly offensive to call me animal from scandinavia so I say to him he can cancel my account. Now I cannot log to these site any more.

I also am seeing him with picture of woman at beer festivals. He is favoring woman who looks like is eating many pampushka dumpling fried with tallow. Maybe he is cold in the night and need such a woman for keep warm.
