HI All,

I have gone to the trouble to get an oxygenation system from more beer. I added a 20lb tank and a gauge that I can control the flow through the device. When I turned the air on and increased the flow the inline filter exploded. I called and got a new device, but the instructions do not say what the psi should be at. Does any one know what that is? I am afraid to use the new device until I get some limits. The distributor doesn't seem to be able to answer my question. Thank you in advance for your help.

When you say "I turned the air on", I'm guessing you mean oxygen, not air.

I'm pretty sure those filers are designed to be used with pressures that aquarium pumps can produce pumping air, and not designed to be used with compressed oxygen. The intent is to filter out potential contaminants from the air being pumped into your wort to oxygenate it. I've never used a filter with oxygen as it has no exposure to contaminants in the air. And I'm guessing you're using a .5 micron stone to inject your O2, which will also act as a filter for anything that could be in the tank. Just be sure you give your stone a 10 minute boil between uses. I boil, then spray with StarSan and bag it between uses in order to avoid contamination.

Good luck!
