I've brewed a few ESBs now an have figured out where I prefer my bitterness level to end up. I've also read dozens of recipes to get a feel for the style. To hit my IBUs I have narrowed down my bittering addition to either 1 oz of Target or 2 oz East Kent Goldings. I'll be adding 2 more ounces of EKG for flavoring/aroma.
My question is will the difference between the Target and EKG be noticeable? I've read posts saying it doesn't matter if there's enough additions later and others saying it makes a big difference. I figure ultimately I'll need to brew it both ways and find out for myself but given how often I have to brew lately that could be awhile. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.
