I’m trying to get into all grain is a keggle both a mash tun and brew kettle ? How do you cover a keggle if using as a mash tun also what is the purpose of a ball lock in brew kettle for easy transfer to fermenter ?

A single keggle would be both a mash tun and kettle if you use BIAB. You'd want to keggles if you didn't want to BIAB, one for the MLT and the other as a kettle. Or, you could just use a cooler as a mash tun and boil in the keggle.

Not sure about a ball-lock in a keggle. A Ball-Valve though would be used for transfer into a fermentor, usually via a pump.
