If Chicago win their series that sets the last 4 Stanley Cup champs in final four as - 09 Pens / 10 Blackhawks / 11 Bruins / 12 Kings..Crazy
Leave it to a SF/SJ fan to come out with a derogatory anti gay slur because the sharks lost game 7...Go Kings GO!
Right. That's why the east was so tight and the west was largely blowouts. Uh huh, makes perfect sense.
Not that I wouldn't be thrilled to see the Hawks in the Finals, especially against Boston, but I think LA will be tough to overcome. They're really big and physical and the Blackhawks struggle against teams like that. If they do pull off, I think home ice wins game seven.
*notice Canadians, if the Balckhawks go to the Finals against either team out east, home ice belongs to a team from ~gasp~ the Western Conference this year. Must be cuz the East is so much better.Go Halifax, eh!

Yeah...the 7-3 and 6-2 wins for Pittsburgh were real nail-biters.![]()
Don't worry the pens will do that to boston and the western victor as well.
Man....what a drag. I had a feeling the Kings were gonna win it last night, only because the home team had won the prior 10 games. But still....I was hoping the Sharks could pull it out. They fought hard...hell of a game.
The problem isn't the Kings. They're a great team, they deserved to win. The problem is their fans. LA sports fans are the worst. My brother is one of them. He's going to call me, about a week from now, to ask me who won the series. Then he's going to rub it in because "his Kings" beat my Sharks. Infuriating.
How did you end up rooting for rivals? Just brothers trying to stick it to eachother?

I picked boston before the first round was over, they beat chicago in 7
The fact that the Blackhawks have the presidents trophy says little about which conference is better. Its certainly a much more complicated conversation that that.
Oh, and no way Boston wins.
Pens in 5. Boston wins game 3 and that's it.
All of the discussion is bull, given no inter-conference play.
Hawks all the way. No doubt.
Still a lot of game left....
And reverting back to a previous thought (didnt feel like double posting) after watching a bunch of the western conference games, i still stand by my previous statement of its more finesse play, less hard hitting. There are a lot more one man break outs, a lot less contact after shot/pass contact, not a whole lot of physicality to it. Granted it's playoffs and no one wants to be hurt or lose players to penalties..but the eastern conference certainly has a lot more grit to it. A lot more contact, a lot of dump and chase, a lot more of that in your face style of play.
I still say the east takes it..whoever it ends up being.

I was among those talking **** about the WC, but if you don't think the Kings have grit and physicality you haven't really watched much hockey at all.
Talking my book, but I think Pittsburgh still has the best chance/underlying structure to win. They combine great skill and finesse players, but also able to grind it out and play a high contact game.
